Aiming to be first across the finish line
There are three words that are guaranteed to capture the interest of director Gary Venner and so when Academy Motorsport uttered ‘British… Super… Cars’ in one sentence he was hooked. In fact all our directors are huge fans of motor racing and the opportunity to support a British team with a British built racing car was far too enticing for them to say no. We enjoy a calculated risk at Goody Demolition and are therefore proud to announce that we are now sponsors of the Academy Motorsport team in the Ginetta Supercup for the coming season.
The Ginetta brand based in Leeds, began production of the Ginetta G55 car and this subsequently led to the start of the Ginetta Supercup championship in 2011. The championship is a combination of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers, who all compete in Ginetta G55 or G50 cars. In Academy Motorsport driver Matt Nicoll-Jones, we have a seasoned champion. He began his racing career aged five testing karts and his dedication to the sport has led him to become British Champion four times to date in a variety of categories. Most notably Matt has been British Ginetta Champion in 2005 and 2007 and British GT4 Champion in 2008. Hopefully this year he will become the new Ginetta Supercup champion!
All races are covered live on ITV, running alongside the British Touring Car championship, so please look out for Matt and the Academy Motorsport vehicle.
