Goody Demolition racing ahead of the competition

Here at Goody Demolition we thrive on an adrenaline rush and so when we were approached to sponsor a team in the British Rallycross Championship we had to say yes. We all agreed that there are a number of similarities between the demolition business and rally driving. It’s all about technical skill, maintaining your focus, teamwork behind the scenes and keeping your edge against the competition.

This will be our third season supporting Ovenden Motorsport in the Suzuki Swift Sport class, with one of our director’s sons at the wheel. Tristan Ovenden has had extensive experience in racing, having been a motorcross competitor and racing Supermoto at national level for several years, before taking up rallycross. It seems that our sponsorship is paying off with Tristan achieving some significant results, including winning the last race of the season in the Rallycross Grand Prix at Croft.

In fact you may have seen the Goody Suzuki Swift featured prominently during an episode of Top Gear on BBC2 last year. Tristan was invited by the owners of the race circuit to tutor James May, before the presenter was unleashed on his own. Sadly for Mr May he was beaten on the day by both Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson, although we hope this is no reflection on Tristan’s driving skills!
If you would like to have a closer look at the little red Goody car, then come and join us for an afternoon. The Ovenden Motorsport team regularly race at the Lydden Hill circuit, near Dover and you will often find members of our staff and their families supporting Tristan at the trackside.
