Goody Support Mental Health Awareness Month

Goody Demolition are increasing the support offered to staff in Mental Health Awareness Month, through additional training and improved benefits for our employees.

15th May 2021

We find ourselves in May, which in the UK is recognised and promoted as Mental Health Awareness Month, and Goody Demolition are launching a new programme for our staff to provide support when they are going through difficult times or just need advice or to chat with someone.
This new Service: The My Healthy Advantage Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), is run by Health Assured, who are the UK and Ireland’s most trusted independent health and wellbeing provider. Our new EAP provides employees with a benefit designed to help team-members deal with personal and professional problems which could be affecting their mental wellbeing, and as a result, having a detrimental effect on their work or home life.
In addition to this we have identified a number of employees within the business who are to be trained as Mental Health First Aiders, who will be undertaking FAA Level 3 Course in Supervising and First Aid for Mental Health.
As members of the NFDC (National Federation of Demolition Contractors), we are supporting their long-term commitment to raising Mental Health Awareness in the demolition industry and ending the stigma surrounding this critical issue.
Mental Health Awareness week takes place on 10-16 May, with this year’s theme being Nature. With our Head Office being located in the heart of the Kent Countryside, and many of our sites being in rural locations, we are encouraging staff to take the opportunity to connect with nature every day.
With the weather improving and Covid-19 restrictions easing, now is the perfect time to get out and have a stroll through the fields, forests and parks around where you live and work.
